On the mainland
Mestre is on the mainland, before the road and rail connection across the lagoon. Parking here can be useful if you prefer to complete the journey by public transport or if your accommodation is on the mainland. Check the walking distance from a car park to its nearest station or bus stop; an address described as “Mestre” does not necessarily mean it is next to a convenient connection.
Before choosing, compare the complete trip: parking, tickets for everyone travelling, the onward journey and the return connection at the time you expect to leave.
At the edge of Venice
Piazzale Roma and Tronchetto are road-accessible arrival areas at the edge of the historic city. They put you closer to the walking and water-transport network, but you will still need to continue without your car. Which is more convenient depends on your destination, luggage and the available onward service.
For operator information, consult AVM’s official website ↗ and find its parking information. Check the exact facility and its current conditions directly before relying on them. This guide does not confirm availability or sell parking.
Match the stop to your stay
- For a day visit: consider your return time and the last suitable connection.
- For an overnight stay: check the parking duration and ask your accommodation about the final part of the journey.
- For larger vehicles: verify height, length and vehicle-category restrictions with the operator before entering.
